Within the framework of Act45 project, we will conduct a survey to investigate the reasons behind the low participation of unemployed people aged 45+ in lifelong training. The survey will also include interviews with unemployed people over 45 years old, who do not have sufficient reading, numeracy or computer skills. This will allow us to identify the perceived obstacles of participation and define the criteria for engaging them in this kind of programmes. Furthermore, focus groups with employers will shed light into the challenges and opportunities of this initiative and suggest motivation strategies in order to engage and facilitate the integration of people of the specific target group into the labour market.

Furthermore, we will collaborate with CSOs, employers and training providers, aiming at establishing an efficient framework that will encourage employability. In this context, the programme will promote best practices while developing guidelines and handbooks for all stakeholders.

Part of the process will also focus on testing and investigating best mobilization practices and engagement strategies by creating a pilot programme.

In addition, a platform will be set up for the dissemination and implementation of the programme by other stakeholders, the exchange of ideas and experiences during the implementation and the suggestion of ideas for improving and enhancing the network. The outputs of Act45 will also be disseminated via multiplier events and the organisation of a European Conference.

OUTPUT 1
Research on the requirements and influential factors for engaging unemployed low skilled adults over 45 years old in training. This will provide CSOs and trainers with greater understanding on the needs of this group and will also support them in designing more attractive training and empowerment programmes.
